Ordering food is where polite French pays off: je voudrais instead of
je veux, the right article after it (de l'eau, not l'eau), and a COD
pronoun to fix a problem without repeating the dish.

The Grammar That Powers It

je voudrais + the article 🔑

The logged weak point: after je voudrais, an uncountable drink takes a
partitive, not the definite article.

Scene: A busy bistro with a colleague. Get a terrace table, ask the
recommendation, order still water, deal with an overcooked dish, split the bill.

Produce, out loud:
